1. When and how did the photography bug bite you?
I don’t have one of those ‘since I was three, I have wanted to become a photographer’ stories (I’ll leave that to the SA Idols contestants). I guess, it was something I enjoyed once receiving my first camera – after that, my husband encouraged me to take it more seriously. Thankful that he encouraged me:)
Although, now when I think about it, when I was younger, I did always have my parents camera in my hand photographing my cats outside on the grass… I guess the urge has always been there, I was just too ignorant to notice.
2. Your house is on fire, your family, equipment and pets are safe, but you only have time to take 2 items, what would it be?
That’s all I really need… If anything happened to my husband an animals, I think I would go crazy! But since there’s time to grab two more things, I think I would grab my iPad and maybe something out the grocery cupboard – om nom nom!
Oprah Winfrey – when she did her final show, I was so moved by the things she said. This is my favourite quote from her final show, “I believe every single event in life that happens is an opportunity to choose love over fear.”
4. What can you talk about for hours? (apart from photography)
Travel – where we wish to go and things we’d like to do… It’s the most frequent conversation in the car when going somewhere.
Arrogance! Just typing it makes me angry! Also, people with no sense of humour – laughter is the best medicine people!
I would choose two tickets to Mombasa, Kenya – thank you very much:) And if she really wants to spend, an underwater housing for my camera too please!
I think kiddies and my cats – because kids have multiple expressions and cannot be told what to do and my cats because they are gorgeous, spoilt and are my kiddies:)
I think it would be my Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS II USM Lens – that beautiful white lens is awesome and cannot live without it (even though my 24-70 is also my fav!).
Around the world in 80 days and photograph it as we go:) Can you imagine?
No, thankfully nothing yet. However, I’m forever stumbling over things – you know when you always trip but not quite fall? I can’t stop doing that! Clumsy me…
I really love Jack Johnson, he’s been my favourite since I was in high school. Then a combination of Dave Matthews Band, Foster the People and John Mayer.
Studio work is my least confident – I feel too restricted strangely. Most confident… hmmmm, not too sure. Portraiture, I think.
Go with the flow – I just take things as they come, mostly because I know my husband has things all planned out.
I would love to go to Mombasa, Kenya right now. I love the african vibes and friendly people – plus, their snorkeling and scuba is awesome!
This one - www.lvphotography.co.za/?p=1311 ! Because Jemma was gorgeous and full of smiles!
